Our Team

Shelly Poland has been with Dr. Barney’s dental team for 10 years and has been a patient of Dr. Barney’s since 1984. Shelly has also worked in a hospital setting to give her a total of 22 years experience in the medical field.

Shelly will be the first to welcome you to Dr. Barney’s office. She will coordinate appointments for her guests and help each patient with questions or concerns with payments or insurance benefits.

To make your treatment affordable, Shelly will help maximize any dental benefits and if desired, help with financial arrangements to fit your budget. She wants to make your desired treatment obtainable AND affordable for each and every guest/patient of Dr. Barney’s.

Shelly has also had the opportunity to have the “LVI experience” by taking continuing education courses at the Las Vegas Institute for Advances Dental Studies with Dr. Barney and the rest of his team. She is looking forward to your call and assuring her guests have a wonderful experience in Dr. Barney’s office.

Sonie Hott began a career in dentistry in 2000 as an orthodontic assistant. Striving to further her education in the dental field Sonie joined our team in 2003. Since joining our team Sonie has studied at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies completing courses in:

Advanced Anterior Aesthetics/Dynamic Team Concepts July 2003
Occlusion for the Team Sept. 2003

Sonie has also had the extreme pleasure of receiving special recognition from LVI for her efforts in assisting some of the worlds leading dentists. Sonie has also joined the IACA and attended the first IACA convention held in San Diego in August 2005 and the Biolase World Laser Clinic in Atlantic City in August 2003.

Sonie is extremely excited to be able to share her knowledge in the importance of oral health in regards to occlusion, TMD, Neuromuscular, FMR as well as general and other areas of cosmetic dentistry. Having been a patient/guest herself since 1994, Sonie will testify to the skills, knowledge, teachings and expertise of Dr. Barney.
